Capt. Stylianos Christoforou, Chief Operations Officer

A Captain of Merchant Shipping, Stelios studied at the merchant shipping academy of Makedonia in Greece, from which we graduated with the (then) highest grade in the history of Merchant Shipping in Greece. Having started his career on board Oil Tankers -Panamax, Aframax and Suezmax- Stelios took over as Chief Operations Officer of VTS in late 2016, responsible for the daily operation of the company. At VTS he previously held the position of Marine, Safety & Quality Manager, during which he implemented and monitored VTS’ safety and quality management system, and carried out regular onboard and shore-based audits. He is also a member of the International Association of Marine Consultants & Surveyors.

Michalis Moulashis, Chief Financial Officer

Joining VTS in the position of CFO in February 2015 under a service agreement with his company MPMFS Ltd, Michalis boasts over 15 years’ experience in shipping and maritime finance. Having attained a BSc in Applied Economics from the University of London, Michalis previously served as Chief Accountant of Hanseatic Shipping Co. Ltd, and, following the formation of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (Cyprus), assumed the position of Financial Manager. Among others, Michalis’ professional qualifications include Fellow memberships of the Institute of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. He is also a member of the Shipping Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus.

Dr Costas Papastavros, Director (Poseidon Envi / VSS EPE)

Educated at the Universities of Athens, Manchester, and Geneva, Costas has over 35 years of experience working in various environmental fields in both the private and public sectors, with extensive experience of coordinating European Union-funded projects. His expertise lies in designing and implementing environmental pollution and control practices, environmental monitoring and management systems, environmental impact assessments, contingency planning, occupational health and safety, waste and chemicals management, climate change policies and practices, as well as the management of natural resources.
